This hard fork will take place at block height 18118000 and it will enable EIP-3855 and will add the placeholder parameter for L1 fee in the L2 transactions to be used in later calculations.
Network Upgrade
Please be informed that there will be a hard fork on the Metis network at block height 18118000. This upgrade is necessary to ensure the continued stability and functionality of the network.
The upgrade will include support for the EIP-3855 standard, introducing the PUSH0 instruction https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-3855, and pushing the constant value 0 onto the stack. This upgrade will allow developers on the Metis blockchain to use the Shanghai EVM version when compiling contracts, facilitating easier integrations and development processes.
Additionally, the upgrade will also introduce an L1 fee. During this phase, users are unlikely to see any immediate impact on their experience.
