Ready to connect to the Metis Andromeda network and join the best community in crypto? We’ve got you covered. This week’s Tech Thursday explains how to connect a Metamask wallet to Andromeda and how RPCs work behind the scenes to enable users to interact with a blockchain network.

From user interface to dApp development and network interaction, there are a lot of moving pieces in blockchain. Quality UI/UX design makes it enjoyable and intuitive for users to navigate a dApp. Developers work tirelessly on the coding that powers their on-chain applications to ensure they work seamlessly. But then what?

How does a dApp communicate with a blockchain network?

RPCs, or Remote Procedure Calls, allow dApps to communicate with a blockchain to read data, send transactions, or interact with a smart contract. Using RPC nodes, the components of a dApp (the front end or application layer and the back end or protocol layer) can communicate with servers from any location to execute programs.

If you’ve ever checked the balance in your Metamask wallet or made a trade on a DEX, RPCs made it possible. In fact, when setting up your wallet, you have to input the RPC address for any network to which you’d like to connect. The RPC address for the Metis Andromeda network is: https://andromeda.metis.io/?owner=1088. You can find connection…
